There were individuals once. Genres, within genres, within genres… That was before. Before the infections of homogeneity and algorithms masquerading as evolution sank their rotten roots deep into the scene.
As one of their counter measures, Void+1 presents the creative director of “SEEKING THE VELVET”, a sound architect and researcher within contemporary electronic music, Cora Novoa, through “Ancient Rites”; her latest EP in which the past, the present and the future converge and showcase visions of what techno could be if it survives the current plague of mediocrity.
This construct serves as evidence of something more powerful than the technology governed by trends: The “Idea” as a driving force… A long-forgotten concept in the decaying world of techno that is ruled by randomly pushed buttons and incompetence disguised under the “happy accident” phrase.
